Hello friends, welcome to my Swad Ka Safar. Today I am going to make Tawa Pulao. Tawa Pulao is a very famous street food of Mumbai and it is also very easy to make. So you must try my simple recipe and as always, So let’s start this easy Tawa Pulao recipe today. To make Tawa Pulao,

- Cooked basmati rice 2 cups (cold or leftover rice works best)
- Onion (medium). 1, finely chopped
- Tomato (medium). 2, finely chopped
- Boiled mixed vegetables 1 cup (carrot, peas, beans, corn)
- Capsicum (bell pepper) ½ cup, chopped
- Garlic (chopped/minced) 1 tbsp
- Green chili (optional) 1, slit or chopped
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Oil 1 tablespoon (optional, for sautéing)
- Lemon juice 1 teaspoon (for garnish)
- Fresh coriander leaves. 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pav bhaji masala. 2 teaspoons
- Red chili powder. ½ teaspoon
- Turmeric powder. ¼ teaspoon
- Salt To taste
I have taken half a kilo of boiled rice. I have already cooked it and if you want the recipe for making rice, You can also use the leftover rice in this Tawa Pulao recipe. I have finely chopped four medium-sized tomatoes. Take two boiled potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Two onions finely chopped. Fresh or frozen peas, about 50 grams. I have used frozen peas here. One medium-sized capsicum finely chopped. One tablespoon ginger-garlic paste. Cumin seeds. We will take one teaspoon oil. I have used here. I used four tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves and the main ingredients of this tawa pulao are garam masala powder, half a teaspoon of salt according to taste and the last ingredients are two tablespoons.

First of all, I have turned on the gas and heated the pan here. Once the pan is hot, pour oil in it. Let the oil heat up well. Then we will add cumin seeds to it and cook the cumin seeds a little on medium flame. Then we will add chopped onion to it. We will fry the onion on medium flame for two to three minutes or fry it until its color becomes golden. Do not cover it. After two-three minutes, we will see that the onion has been lightly fried. See, now we will add green peas here. Add capsicum as well and mix both of these with the onion and cook for at least two to three minutes. I have mixed it on medium flame and let it cook. If you want, you can also cover the pan. I have kept the flame of the gas medium. We will keep stirring it in between so that it It should not burn and you can see that capsicum and peas have also been fried a little with the onion, so what we will do now is we will make the flame of the gas low and then we will add this ginger garlic paste to it, mix it, we will cook ginger garlic with onion for at least one more minute on low flame so that its raw flavour goes away, so leave it for a minute and after a minute we will see that ginger garlic has also been cooked a little, so add this tomato here, mix the tomato well, now we have to cook this tomato with onion capsicum peas for at least three to four minutes, make the flame of the gas medium so that the tomato gets cooked quickly and cover the pan, after three to four minutes we will see that more than half of this tomato has melted, see, let the tomato melt completely well, now we will add spices to it, so for this reduce the flame of the gas here and then this turmeric powder, red chilli powder, if you eat more spicy then use more, then mix it, we will cook the spices a little with tomato, so cover the pan and cook it for a minute Let it remain on flame for one minute, remove the lid of the pan and you can see that the tomatoes have melted well and the spices have also been cooked. Now we will add boiled potatoes in it. Mix the potatoes well. After mixing the potatoes, we will add the pav bhaji masala here. I have added two teaspoons of masala here. If you want, you can use a little more masala. Add the pav bhaji masala and after mixing the spices, what will we do, we will cook this masala a little. So cover the pan and let it cook on low flame for two minutes. After two minutes, remove the lid of the pan and we will see that the pav bhaji masala has also been fried well along with the rest of the spices.

Now we will add the boiled rice that we have already cooked here. Add salt. We have not used salt here yet, so add salt according to taste. Now we will mix it well. See, I have kept the flame of the gas low here. I will mix the rice and the spices well. And you can see that the spices have been mixed well in the rice. So now we will mix the rice with the spices. So cover the pan and let it cook on low flame for 2 minutes. The gas flame is low here. After 2 minutes remove the lid of the pan and the spices have mixed well in the rice. So it is almost ready. So in the end we will add garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and mix both of them here. By the way, the name of this dish is Tawa Pulao, so according to the name we should cook it on a pan, but we, that is, I do not have such a big pan. So if you are making it in less quantity, then you can make it on a pan. So I have mixed garam masala and coriander leaves. Just cover the pan and cook on low flame for a minute so that the taste of garam masala comes in the rice. After a minute remove the lid of the pan and then we will put lemon here. See, squeeze the lemon between your palms, its seeds will separate. See, throw it away. So I have used one lemon here, that means there is about two tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix it after adding lemon. You do not have to cook it at all, I just mixed the lemon juice well and our Tawa Pulao is ready, so turn off the gas, see, the color is also looking good, its taste is very ultimate, so you must try it, for serving, we will take it out in a plate and you can eat this Tawa Pulao hot with your favorite raita and salad,

Thank You
