2. Green peas (fresh/frozen) ½ to ¾ cup
3. Onion (thinly sliced) 1 medium
4. Ginger (grated) 1 tsp
5. Green chili (optional) 1, slit
6. Ghee or oil 2 tablespoons
7. Water 2 cups
8. Salt To taste
9. Fresh coriander (garnish) 1 tbsp chopped
10. Spice Quantity
11 Cumin seeds 1 tsp
12. Bay leaf 1
13. Cloves 2–3
14. Green cardamom 2
15. Cinnamon stick 1 small piece
16. Black pepper 4–5 (optional)

To make matar pulao or peace pulao, I took one glass of basmati rice. If we measure it by weight, then it is 200 grams of rice. I have measured it by glass here. So for one glass of rice, we will use 1.25 i.e. one and a quarter glass of water. I have taken 100 grams of peas. I have used frozen peas here, but if you want, you can also use fresh peas in place of this. I have taken two bay leaves. I have taken a little cinnamon. Two small cardamoms, break them. One big cardamom, break it as well. I will take a little mace. I have not used cumin seeds in this pulao. You should also not use it. Take some cashew nuts. I have taken around 12 to 15 grams of ghee. Three to four tablespoons. If you don’t like ghee, then use oil and we will take one-third teaspoon of salt. First of all, we will wash the rice. For that, put it in a vessel and wash it two-three times with water. I have washed it. Now, add one glass of water to the rice and leave it to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Till the rice is soaking, I have heated a pressure cooker pan on the gas and will add ghee.

As soon as the cooker gets heated, and here I have used three tablespoons of ghee. Let the ghee get heated. Then, we will add the dry spices to it and mix it like this. Add cashews as well. Mix it together. We will fry all these things for a few seconds or fry it till the color of the cashews turns a little golden. And our cashews and spices have been lightly fried. See, now we will add peas here. Mix it. I have used frozen peas here, so we will fry it on medium flame for just one minute. If you are using fresh peas, If you are cooking peas, let it cook for two to two and a half minutes. We will let it cook and keep stirring it in between. Let it cook a little more and after a minute we will see that peas have been fried well. See, now we will add rice to it. Drain the water from the rice and put it in the pressure cooker. I had soaked rice for 10 to 12 minutes only. So do not soak it for more than this and mix it. We will fry the rice with peas and spices for half a minute on medium flame. This will give a good taste of pulao. Make the flame of the gas medium and let it cook a little. Keep stirring it otherwise the rice will start sticking to the pan of the pressure cooker. I have fried the rice a little. Now we will add water to it. Here I have taken a glass with which I measured the rice. Use the same glass and I am adding a glass of water here first. The glass with which you measure rice, measure water with the same glass. So you saw, I added one glass of water and this is half to half to half. So I have used one and a quarter glass of water for one glass of rice. Keep the measurement in mind, turn the flame on high and mix it. I had soaked the rice in water for 10 minutes and after that I used one and a quarter glass of water for one glass of rice, so I added this, I added salt, mix it, after adding salt we will not close the lid of the pressure cooker, we will wait on high flame until the water starts boiling, so as soon as we see that the water has started boiling, at this time we will close the lid of the pressure cooker, so close the lid properly, as soon as the water that we had put in the cooker starts boiling, close the lid of the pressure cooker carefully and cook it on high flame for two whistles, I have already kept the flame of the gas high, let it whistle twice and then turn off the gas, this is the first whistle, this is the second and we will turn off the gas and let the pressure cooker cool down properly, do not open it in between, otherwise the rice will remain wet and raw, so check it once by lifting the whistle and the pressure has been released So open it carefully and you can see that our Peas Pulao is ready.

It took us maximum 20 to 25 minutes to make it in the pressure cooker and it turns out very tasty. Mix it once. If you open the lid of the pressure cooker immediately, then there will be some moisture in the rice, so you open the lid and leave it for four to five minutes, after that serve. For serving, we will take it out in abowl and you can see that all the rice looks separate in it and our delicious Peas Pulao is ready. Serve it hot with your favourite curry. Thank You
